Calima is a
world music quartet, featuring two gifted guitarists, Jimmy Patton and
Alex Guillen, multi-instrumentalist Adrienne Nims, and world-renowned
percussionist Warren Bryant.
The music consists of an amalgamation
of styling influences ranging from Flamenco and Salsa, to South
American folk, Persian, and Mediterranean. The songs they play
are their own arrangements and adaptations of various world music
groups. The name Calima means “heat” in a Spanish language know
as Catalan.
