Blue
Largo plays mostly swinging 1940's and 1950's jump blues in the vein
of Louis Jordan, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Ruth Brown, and Dinah
Washington, but they also pay sincere tribute to the likes of Billie
Holiday and Nat King Cole Trio as well.
Because
of this, the band is readily accepted by the "swing crowd," which is
really just a lucky accident since most of the cats have been playin'
this same music since the early 1980's, and have been loyally
supported by San Diego's most serious swing dancers, long before
"swing" became fashionable. |
